This article concerns the image education course given in France to secondary school students. It begins with a critique of the pedagogical system, which is biased by disciplinary approaches and particularly by the artification process. We then propose a study of visual artefacts based on visual semiotics and distributed meaning. Finally, we present an online tool that offers new resources on the stakeholders involved in the production and dissemination of images.
